
Cops Seek Killer in Elks Lodge Murder
NEWBURG---
On June 28 at 1:44 a.m., Charles County
Sheriff’s officers responded to the Newburg
Elks Lodge located at 12445 Rock Point Road
for the report of a shooting. When officers
arrived, they discovered two men suffering
from gunshot wounds. One of the victims,
Michael Lamont Beverly, 33, of Waldorf, was
transported to Prince George’s Hospital
Center where he died a short time later. The
second victim, a 24 year old Newburg man,
was transported to a hospital where he was
treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation
revealed that the victims were in the
parking lot of the business when they began
arguing with the suspect, Terrell Lamont
Thompson, 35, of Waldorf. During the
argument, Thompson produced a handgun and
shot both victims. After the shooting,
Thompson fled in a blue, four door sedan.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Thompson
- who has not been located - charging him
with second degree murder. Thompson is 6’3”
in height, weighs approximately 205 pounds
and has black hair and brown eyes.
