Three Arrested in Saturday Night at the Fights at the Races

      BUDDS CREEK --- Police report that on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 7:48 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek for a reported fight in progress.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the security officials who had several people detained.  During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the suspects, Talley Dewayne Barber, 32, of Indian Head, Jason Leroy Parris, 27, of La Plata and Marvin Leo Carroll, 25, of Indian Head, who were arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

 Busy Corner Dealing?  Man Nabbed with Cocaine & $3,000

LOVEVILLE ---  Maryland State Trooper First Class Andrew Trossbach spotted a motorist going too fast on Loveville Road on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2:18 pm, and initiated a traffic stop on the red Acura Vigor on Route 247, north of Busy Corner Road.  Contact was made with the driver, George Derrick Gross, 37, of Great Mills.  Police report that a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.  During the course of the traffic stop a clear plastic bag of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle.  Additionally, a small glass vial containing cocaine powder and $2,931.00 was recovered from his person.  Mr. Gross was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine and he was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

 Woman Charged with Beating Man

LEXINGTON PARK --- According to the Maryland State Police, on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 7:36 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported disturbance in the 21000 block of North Essex Drive, Lexington Park.  Upon arrival contact was made with the male victim who advised he was assaulted by Glinda Melody Williamson, 35, of Lexington Park.  Ms. Williamson was arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review. 

  No Wonder This Driver Wouldn’t Stop

MECHANICSVILLE --- On Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11:40 pm, TFC Rezza observed a white Chevrolet Suburban exceeding the posted speed limit traveling south bound Route 235 from Route 5 in Mechanicsville.  After a short pursuit southbound Route 235, the driver made a U-turn and proceeded northbound until a traffic stop was initiated on Route 5 at Mechanicsville Road.  A NCIC check revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Washington, DC earlier that day.  The driver, Seuing Minchung, 26, of Crofton was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and issued the appropriate traffic citations.  He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review. 

 Burglars Still Ply Trade in Seventh District

COLTON’S POINT --- On Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 2:30 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported burglary in the 38000 block of Dukehart Creek Road in Coltons Point.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) entered her residence through a side window.  The complainant advised nothing of value was taken and the investigation continues.

LEXINGTON PARK --- Police report that on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 4:37 pm, TFC Laney responded to a reported burglary in the 47000 block of Piney Orchard Street in Lexington Park.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized his residence and stole a Panasonic DVD changer/player, a wireless microphone and several metal tins of U.S. coins.  The investigation continues. 

No Ticket to Ride

HOLLYWOOD --- Police report that on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11:06 pm, TFC E. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a white Lincoln Continental on Route 235, north of St. Johns Road in Hollywood.  Contact was made with the driver, George Francis Butler, 56, of Glen Burnie.  A check of MVA revealed Mr. Butler’s driving privileges are suspended in Maryland.  Mr. Butler was arrested for driving while suspended and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.


Drunk Driver, Druggie Passenger, Say Police

         
CLEMENTS --- On Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 3:26 am, TFC Lashley initiated a traffic stop on a silver Volkswagen Jetta on Route 234, east of Route 242 in Clements for an equipment violation.  Contact was made with the driver, Rickey Dave Townsend, Jr., 23, of Leonardtown and the passenger, Donald Eugene Smith, 40, of Leonardtown.  During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Townsend was arrested for DUI and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.  Police say a search of the vehicle revealed Mr. Smith was in possession of a silver metal CDS smoking device.  Mr. Smith was charged for possession of CDS paraphernalia on a Criminal Citation and releases

Cash, Crack and Stolen Drills Land Man in Clink

OAKVILLE  --- Lt. Rick Burris of the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department reports that after a month long investigation, on June 21st at approximately 9 pm, members of the St. Mary’s County BCI Narcotics Unit, assisted by St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team, and Maryland State Police Patrol Units and K-9, conducted a search warrant on a residence located at 26195 Independence Drive, Mechanicsville, Maryland. The search warrant resulted in the following items being seized:

6.3 grams of crack cocaine (street Value of $630.00)

Two stolen drills

Ammunition

$364.00 in U.S. Currency

 Police say that Eldridge Eugene Shade,  42,  of Mechanicsville was arrested at the scene on four Grand Jury Indictments for Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS. The Indictments stemmed from a previous search warrant that was executed in February 2007 at the same residence.  Additional charges from this most recent search warrant are pending after a review with the State’s Attorney’s Office, according to Burris.

Burglars Unload Store of Power Equipment in Midnight Raid

WHITE PLAINS — Police report that on June 16 at 2:16 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Lanham Cycle and Turf located at 10776 Demarr Road in White Plains. Upon arrival, officers discovered suspect(s) shattered a window, entered the building and stole approximately $7,000 worth of equipment including seven or eight Husqvarna chainsaws, a Briggs and Stratton engine, three or four Shindaiwa trimmers and a Shindaiwa backpack blower. Officers, including a K9 team, searched the area but did not locate the suspects. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer J. Richards is investigating.

Rock-Throwing Youths Damage Moving Vehicles

WALDORF —- According to police reports, on June 16 at 1:50 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the report of juveniles hiding in the bushes off of St. Charles Parkway near Northgate Place in Waldorf and throwing rocks at vehicles traveling on the parkway. They damaged the windshield of a 2004 Jeep and shattered the passenger rear window of a 2005 Dodge Caravan. Prior to the officers’ arrival, a citizen apprehended the juveniles. The juveniles, ages 9, 11 and 12, were charged with destruction of property and released to their parents. Officer J. Marti investigated.

 Shoe Thief in Ford Focus Eludes Police

WALDORF —- Police report that on June 14 at 8:28 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the DSW Shoes located at 3017 Market Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. While officers were en route to the store, a lookout was given for a silver Ford Focus bearing Maryland license plates 6CTM48. Officers observed the vehicle turning north onto Crain Highway from Route 228. The suspect vehicle ran a red light and officers attempted to stop it but the driver continued north into Prince George’s County. Officers ended their pursuit shortly thereafter. The suspect was described as a black male wearing brown clothes. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Cpl. C. Five Men Charged In Assault with Wooden Bat, Wrench

WALDORF — Police report that on June 13 at 6:18 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 40 block of Meadow Lane in Waldorf for the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 26-year-old Waldorf man, in front of the residence with numerous injuries. Investigation revealed the victim arrived home and was approached by five people he had been in a dispute with. He started to run into the residence but they pushed him into some bushes and struck him with a wooden bat, a wrench and their fists. Officers located one of the accused was located in the area and found the other four at a residence on Tanglewood Drive. Leroy Christopher Lyles, 21, Anthony Jermaine Lyles, 19, Jerome Anthony Epps, 24, and Doris Theresa Cole, 45, all of Waldorf, were charged with first- and second-degree assault. They were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. A juvenile boy was also involved in the incident and he was charged with assault and released to his guardian. Officer J. Long investigated.

Vandals Cause $15k Damage to Construction Equipment

WALDORF — According to police reports sometime between 4:30 p.m. June 8 and 7 a.m. June 11, suspects shattered all the windows on five pieces of construction equipment at the construction site located on Middletown Road near McDaniel Drive in Waldorf, causing approximately $15,000 worth of damage. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer J. Foster is investigating.

Man Arrested for Burglary is Guilty of 2006 Assault

WALDORF — Police report that the Charles County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a robbery that occurred last year. On Dec. 30, 2006, officers received the report that on Dec 28, a 23-year-old Waldorf man was assaulted and knocked unconscious in a parking lot on Keepsake Place in Waldorf. The suspects fled after stealing the victim’s wallet. The victim was treated at Southern Maryland Hospital for his injuries. On March 26, Brian Germaine Flemming, 20, of Waldorf was arrested by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office on burglary warrants. Further investigation revealed Flemming was involved in the Dec. 30 incident. He was served with a warrant and charged with armed robbery, robbery, possession of a handgun, use of a handgun during a felony/violent crime and second-degree assault. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.

Woman Arrested for Department Store Theft

CALIFORNIA — According to police reports, Portia Denise White, 33, of Lexington Park was arrested by Deputy David Goff after he discovered she had stolen items from a California Department Store. The items were clothes and valued at nearly $350.00.

Wussie Called Pal to Help Him Beat Up Woman

LEXINGTON PARK —Police report that Deputy William Rishel responded to a 911 call for a possibly injured subject at a Lexington Park residence. Upon arrival he found the victim, holding her 2 year old son and bleeding heavily from the face and head. She had multiple injuries to her face and head and complained of various points of pain. An ambulance was summonsed, and Deputy Rishel was able to discover the following facts. The Suspect, Tony Jermaine Hill (Age 30 of Lusby) arrived at the victim’s residence for a visitation exchange. An argument ensued and Suspect Hill began to strike the victim in the face. A second person waiting in the vehicle, Takiera Shenise Thomas, 24, of Lexington Park) was called by Suspect Hill to assist in the assault. Both parties repeatedly struck the victim by punching and kicking her. The tow suspects were charged with First and Second Degree assault after they fled the scene and were arrested on a vehicle stop after a lookout was placed for them.

Escaped Convict Recaptured

LEONARDTOWN — According to police reports, Parker Douglas McCarty (Age 42 of No Fixed Address) was arrested for a Maryland Department of Corrections Retake Warrant by Deputy Kevin Meyer.

Two Men Arrested Violating Restraining Order

LEONARDTOWN — Police report that Darrian Lorenzo Johnson, 18, of St. Inigoes) and Antonio Wendell Chase, 20, of Lexington Park) were arrested after Deputy Shawn Moses found them on a victim’s property that they were ordered in writing to stay away from.

Movie Pirates Captured at Flea Market

LEONARDTOWN — Police report that Deputy Anthony Whipkey responded to a local flea market for the reported “Bootlegged” Property that was for sale. Once on the scene he recovered more than 300 illegal DVDs and CDs. There were current theater playing movies that were illegally recorded and now for sale. Suspect Barry William Bredlinger, 29, of Lusby, was arrested and charged with several counts. Additional charges maybe pending a State’s Attorney’s Office and Grand Jury review.

Earring Thief Arrested

CALIFORNIA — Police report that Deputy Michael Campbell arrested Angie Marie Williamson, 42, of Hollywood, Md., for theft under $100.00. Suspect Williamson store earrings from a California Department Store.

Man Arrested for Protective Order Violations

CALIFORNIA — According to police reports, Steven Douglas Seek, 35,  of California, Md. was arrested on a Calvert County open warrant for Violation of a Protective Order and Telephone Misuse. The warrant was served by Deputy McCoy.

Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests

LEXINGTON PARK — Police report that on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 8:50 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a gray Dodge Neon on Route 235 in the area of Expedition Park Drive in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the female driver, an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Trooper C. Evans arrived to assist and contact was made with the front passenger, Reginald Frank Johnson, 25, of Lexington Park. Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigar. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review. Contact was also made with the rear passenger, Jessica Shavone Holt, 22, of Lexington Park. A wanted check revealed Ms. Holt had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for driving while suspended. She was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where the warrant was served by Trooper C. Evans. The driver was issued an equipment repair order for the violation and released at the scene.

Subway Employee Robbed in Parking Lot

CALIFORNIA —- According to police reports, on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 10:15 pm, Trooper. Brill responded to a reported theft from motor vehicle in the Subway parking lot in the San Souci Plaza in California. Contact was made with the female victim. She advised unknown subject(s) broke into her gold Hyundai Elantra and took her purse containing an LG cellphone, paycheck from Subway, Navy Federal Credit Union Check Card, key to the vehicle and $50.00 in currency. Investigation continues.

Marijuance Cigar Leads to Arrest for Passenger

LEXINGTON PARK — Police report that on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 9:34 am, TFC E. Evans observed Derek Clifton Marshall, 28, of Lexington Park operating a blue Ford Freestar on Route 235 south of Route 246 in Lexington Park. A traffic stop was initiated and a MVA checked revealed Mr. Marshall’s driving privileges have been suspended and revoked since December 2006. Mr. Marshall was subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended and revoked driver’s license. Contact was also made with the passenger, Sarah Elizabeth Rand, 24, of Lexington Park. Ms. Rand was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigar. She was arrested for possession of marijuana and both subjects were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Man in Possession of Marijuana Gets Pulled Over

MECHANICSVILLE — According to police on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:11 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a green Chevrolet S-10 truck for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 5 in the area of Lockes Hill Road in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the driver, Christopher Cote Johnson, 20, of Bel Alton. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of three small baggies of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Johnson was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Speeder Has Suspended License, Marijuana

LEXINGTON PARK — Police report that on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 7:17 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a tan Toyota Tacoma for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 235 at Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the driver, Geremy Michael Tilley, 21, of Lexington Park and a check through MVA revealed Mr. Tilley’s driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Mr. Tilley was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Tilley was in possession of a plastic bag of marijuana. Mr. Tilley was charged with possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Soda Machine Bandits Hit Leonardtown Center

LEONARDTOWN — According to police reports on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 3:00 am, Trooper. McCartney responded to a reported malicious destruction of property at the Food Lion in the Leonardtown Center. Contact was made with the male complainant, who advised unknown suspect(s) pried open the soda machines and took an undetermined amount of money. A check of the area revealed 5 soda machines in the Leonardtown Center were damaged and the money removed. Investigation continues.

Juvenile Speeder Starts Young, Marijuana Found

MECHANICSVILLE — Police report that on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 7:21 pm, Trooper. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a black Ford Probe for a traffic violation on Mechanicsville Road at Route 5 in Mechanicsville. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the male driver, 17, of Mechanicsville who was in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing and further action is pending by Juvenile Services. He was later released to his parents.

Genius Calls Cops on Girlfriend but Leaves Pot

ST. INIGOES — According to police reports on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 6:45 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to a reported unwanted guest in the 17000 block of Owensville Way in St. Inigoes. Contact was made with the complainant, Sean Michael Curvin, 26, of St. Inigoes who advised he wanted his girlfriend removed from the residence. Once inside the residence 3 CDS smoking devices with burnt marijuana were observed in plain view. Mr. Curvin was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene for possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Son Attacks His Mother, Breaks Her Stuff

CALLAWAY — Police report that on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 1:29 am, TFC Grimes responded to the 20000 block of Point Lookout Road in Callaway for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, who advised her son, Dionta Quantiaus Taylor, 20 of Callaway assaulted her, broke her 2 cell phones and damaged the wall inside the residence. Mr. Taylor was arrested for 2nd degree assault and malicious destruction of property. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Woman Pulled Over For Speeding, Drugs Charged

LEXINGTON PARK —- According to police reports on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 1:04 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a red Pontiac Grand Am on Route 235 at Pegg Road in Lexington Park for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Patricia Ann Miller, 44, of Lusby, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Miller was found to be in possession of cocaine and was subsequently arrested; transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Pair of Kids, 10 and 11, Charged With Assault

LEXINGTON PARK — Police report that on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 9:57 pm, Trooper. M. Adams responded to a reported juvenile assault in the 45000 block of Indian Way in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the 11 year old male who was assaulted by a 10 year old male. During the course of the investigation, both children were charged accordingly and released to the parent/guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

Burglars Snag Cash, Basketball Jerseys

MECHANICSVILLE —- According to police reports on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 7:30 pm, TFC Fleetwood responded to the 38000 block of East Edinview Court in Mechanicsville for a reported burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) entered the residence during the day and stole 4 basketball jerseys and $512.00 in currency. No further information is available at this time and the investigation continues.

Juvenile Charged With DUI, Pot Possession

LOVEVILLE — Police report that on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 7:35 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to the area of Route 5 and Sunnyside Road in Loveville for a reported traffic complaint. Upon arrival, TFC Evans observed a black Pontiac Grand Am on the shoulder of the road and made contact with the male driver, 17, of Leonardtown and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. The juvenile was arrested for DUI and a search incident to arrest revealed a CDS smoking device with marijuana residue on his person. He was charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and DUI and was released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

Man Couldn’t Keep it in His Pants

LEXINGTON PARK — According to police on Monday June 25, 2007 at 2:10 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Citation on Route 235 north of Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the female driver and the passenger, Julius Bradford Cooper, 5th, 28, of Hollywood. A clear plastic baggie of marijuana was observed in plain view protruding from his pants pocket. Mr. Cooper was arrested for possession of marijuana and a search also revealed he was in possession of a CDS smoking device. He was also charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.
