LA PLATA (June 24, 2008) --- The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to welcome Diane Richardson as its new Press Secretary. Richardson recently retired from the Prince George’s County Police Department where she was a police officer for 21 years, serving as a spokesperson for the past 16 years.

“Diane brings to us a wealth of experience in law enforcement and public relations and I am thrilled to welcome her to our family here at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Rex Coffey. “She is going to be a great asset to our Agency, the news media and the community.”

As Press Secretary, Richardson will serve as chief spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. She joins Captain Rob Cleaveland, Commander of the Executive Services Division, which oversees the Media Relations Office, and Media Relations Officer Kristen Timko.

Richardson, a Charles County resident, began her new assignment June 23.
