HOLLYWOOD (June 10, 2008) Since
Rednecks are St. Mary's County's most renewable
resource, the latest chapter in the annals of the
Dukes of Hazards of St. Mary's should have been no
surprise.
St. Mary's Sheriff's officers report
that on 06/09/08 at approximately 12:24 p.m.
Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident on St.
John’s road in the area of Sandy Bottom Road in
Hollywood, Maryland. Preliminary investigation
reveals – William Howard Burns, Jr. 54 of Hollywood,
Maryland was operating a 1992 Harley Davidson
motorcycle. Mr. Burns was traveling west on St.
John’s Road when he lost control of the vehicle and
traveled off onto the right roadside. William Burns
was ejected and landed in the roadway. The
motorcycle caught fire. William Burns was flown by
Maryland State Police Helicopter, Trooper 7, to
Baltimore Shock Trauma.
Members of the St. Mary’s County
Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team
responded to the scene to assume the crash
investigation. Cpl. Edward Evans is the Deputy
assigned to the crash investigation.
Police report that William Howard
Burn’s Jr. driving privilege is revoked in
Maryland. William Howard Burn’s Jr. was serving a
Home Detention sentence at the time of the accident
and was in violation of the conditions of Home
Detention. Investigation is continuing. Alcohol
may have been contributed in the cause of the
accident. |
