St.
Mary's, Calvert and Charles Residents Among Maryland
Delegates
Julie Randall and Steny Hoyer of St. Mary's County
Join Sue Kullen of Port Republic and
Virginia Benedict, of Newburg

When they were a little younger....In
1975, then Del. Roy Dyson (D. St. Mary's) and Sen.
Steny Hoyer (D. PG) were guests at the Democratic
Womens Club Dinner. In 1980, Dyson was
elected to Congress and served five terms prior to
being defeated in 1990. In 1994, Dyson won the
first of four terms thus far as state senator.
Hoyer was a candidate for Lt. Governor in 1978 and
lost the primary as Acting Gov. Blair Lee's running
mate. Hoyer won a special election for
Congress to replace the comatose Gladys Noon
Spellman in 1981 and has become Majority Leader of
the House.

Will Hoyer get a
chance to join a different kind of race in Denver
like in this photo taken at the Budds Creek Speedway
in his home county of St. Mary's? At right,
Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill with Maryland
Comptroller Louie Goldstein and Congressman Roy
Dyson answer questions posed by a reporter.

Among the Maryland super delegates is former
Maryland Governor Parris Glendening, shown here with
his Deputy Chief of Staff Jennifer Crawford, who he
was conducting an affair while using state troopers
as lookouts, the state yacht as a love nest and
overseas trips for romantic interludes, all the
while giving the younger gal $31,000 in raises and
promotions. Glendening denied the ST. MARY'S
TODAY news stories about the affair, then
divorced his wife and married the staffer.
Then the love child was born.

Former State Senator J. Frank Raley turned one term
as Delegate and one term as senator into a lifetime
of political power, appointing judges at least four
times and shown here bloviating to U. S. Sen. Ben
Cardin at a Lexington Park meeting.
Cardin is a super delegate to this year's convention
while Raley is likely sitting in Obama's hotel room.
