Choking,
Smacking and Stealing Her Car
GREAT MILLS — Lt.
Terry Black of the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Dept. reports that on
June 3, 2008 at 12:45 A.M. Deputy T. Bowles responded to a
residence in Great Mill’s Maryland for the report of a Domestic
Disturbance. Investigation by Deputy Bowles revealed the female
victim and suspect David T. Knott, age 22, of California,
Maryland were involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into
a physical altercation. Suspect Knott allegedly struck the
victim several times in the face with his fist and grabbed the
victim around the neck choking her. Knott then proceeded to
obtain the keys to the victim’s vehicle and fled the area. A
short time later Knott telephoned the Emergency Communication
Center and advised he wished to turn his self in. Knott was
located, placed under arrest, charged with Assault 2
nd
Degree, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and incarcerated in the
Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court
Commissioner.

Hit Woman in Head with Baseball Bat
LEXINGTON PARK
St. Mary’s Sheriff’s officers report that on June 3, 2008 at
11:00 A.M. Sdfc. D. Corcoran responded to a residence in
Lexington Park for the report of an Assault. Investigation by
Sdfc. Corcoran revealed the victim and suspect Joseph M. Taylor,
age 28, of Lexington Park, Maryland were involved in a verbal
dispute inside the residence. The dispute escalated at which
time Suspect Taylor struck the victim in the head with a
baseball bat. The victim was subsequently airlifted by Maryland
State Police Trooper 7 to Prince George’s Hospital where she is
being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Suspect Taylor
was arrested on the scene, charged with Assault First Degree and
incarcerated in the Detention Center pending appearance before
the District Court Commissioner.

Police report that a man won an all expense paid trip to the
clink on June 2, 2008 at 3:40 A.M. when Deputy S. Ruest
responded to a residence in St. Inigoes, Maryland for the report
of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed the victim and
suspect were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated
into a physical altercation. The suspect, George R. Sams, age
46, of St. Inigoes was arrested after an investigation by Dep.
Ruest revealed Sams had struck the victim on her leg with his
fist and foot, shoved her into a wall and twisted her arm. Sams
was transported to the Detention Center, charged with Assault
Second Degree and incarcerated pending an appearance before the
District Court Commissioner.

Police report that on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 8:02 pm, John
Edward Colleary, 4

18, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for
possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Colleary was operating a gray Dodge when he was stopped for
speeding on Route 244, in the area of Richey Road in Valley Lee.
During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the
driver, Colleary and an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting
from the vehicle. Colleary was found to be in possession of a
CDS smoking device with marijuana residue. Colleary was
transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he
was held pending a bond review.

Police report that on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 1:02 am, Jon S.
Lore, 3
rd, 21,
of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for
possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr.
Lore was a passenger in a blue Hyundai when the vehicle was
stopped on Trapp Road in Dameron for failing to drive in single
lane. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Lore was found
to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia containing Marijuana.
Mr. Lore was taken into custody and transported to the St.
Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a
bond review.
