To the Editor: 

Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Fox Network and, more importantly, STAR Broadcasting Corporation which supplies an estimated 60% of the Chinese state-approved news (propaganda) to the People's Republic of China with 120 million viewers every day (eclipsing Fox's 8 million daily). Murdoch, who is a Chinese citizen and owns a nice mansion outside Beijing is the world's largest source of both Communist propaganda and Conservative (American-style) propaganda in the world - bar none.

The "Communist Fox and Friends" lobbied the 109th (the "do-nothing") congress heavily to let media corporations like his and Clear Channel Entertainment (owners of El Rushbo) buy up radio, television and newspaper media outlets at will. Unfortunately, they got their way and created impossible conditions for competition in small local markets.

The layoffs and local news media shutdowns are the direct result of lobbying by Murdoch and his partners in crime. Of course, Bush's recession added to that while Bush's policies causing it all were being cheered on by all of Fox's newscasters and Rush. It's the same thing that happens when they open up a Walmart next to a McKay's. The local merchant is out-resourced. It's free enterprise at work. Welcome to the Free-Market economy YOU asked for.
