Fight at Hobo Woods Leaves Man Injured
LEXINGTON PARK — Police report that on June 19th at approximately 1030 hours, police responded to a 911 call for an assault victim lying in the woods behind Hal’s Deli in Lexington Park. Police located Fredy Herman Eatmon II, from Washington DC suffering from head wounds. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was treated and released in the morning on June 20th. St. Mary’s County BCI detectives investigating the incident determined that an argument between the victim and Kevin Jerome Chase, 38 years of age, from Great Mills and Walter Jerome Ford, 43 years of age, from Park Hall, escalated into the victim being beaten and left in the wooded area. Chase and Ford were both arrested for 1st Degree Assault and incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
Lakeshia’s Big Mouth Sends Her to Slammer
LEXINGTON PARK — St. Mary’s Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Cindy Allen reports that on June 18, 2008 at approximately 9:30 pm a strong arm robbery occurred on FDR Blvd in Lexington Park, Maryland. Witnesses report three suspects ran on foot to the area of Missouri Avenue in Lexington Park. Deputies responded to the area and began a neighborhood canvass in an attempt to locate the suspects.
While conducting their investigation, a large crowd formed in the street. Corporal Harold Young gave loud verbal commands to the crowd to disburse. The crowd continued to grow.
Lakeshia Lashawn Kelson, 21 of Lexington Park, Maryland began shouting and cursing in a loud voice, encouraging the crowd to be disorderly and unruly. Cpl. Young again order the crowd to leave and ordered Kelson to stop her conduct and leave.
The crowd began to disburse and Kelson initially began to walk away but then turned around and began shouting profanities at the deputies who were trying to quell the volatile situation. The crowd began to return as a result of Kelson’s words and actions. Lakeshia Kelson was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer.
Nature Boy Had Foul Mouth…and Pot
INDIAN HEAD — Police report that on June 18 at 8 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Cpl. D. P. Willis, Jr., responded to Mattingley Avenue near Mattingley Park in Indian Head to assist the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) with a disorderly man at a park. Upon the officer’s arrival, the man became increasingly disorderly and continued causing a disturbance among other visitors at the park. After being issued citations and being instructed by the NRP to leave, the man continued to be disruptive by using profane language and arguing with officers in a loud and disturbing voice. The man was arrested for disorderly conduct. A subsequent search revealed he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on his person and in his vehicle. He was identified as John Stanley Gibson, III, 30, of White Plains and was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Man Went Out in Blaze of Glory
ST. LEONARD, MD (June 20, 2008)—Maryland State Fire Marshals report that a Calvert County man has succumbed to injuries he suffered at his home. Earl Tyler, 51 years old was rescued from his home by firefighters and deputy sheriff’s after deputies arrived to investigate an assault. The house was located in the 4000 block of St. Leonard Road.
Tyler who was home alone was unresponsive and suffering from severe burns to his body when firefighters found him lying on the living room floor. He was treated at the scene by emergency medical personal where he was stabilized. He was flown by Med-Star to the Washington DC Hospital Center Burn Unit for further treatment. He succumbed from his injuries last night at approximately 5:47 p.m.
Investigators determined that Tyler ignited himself after pouring an ignitable liquid onto his torso. Deputy State Fire Marshals from the State Fire Marshal’s Southern Regional Office and investigators with the Calvert County Criminal Investigative Team are continuing with their investigation in determining a motive why Tyler ignited himself.
His body has been sent to the medical examiners office in the District of Columbia where a forensic examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

CALIFORNIA — St. Mary’s Sheriff’s report that on June 18, 2008 Jeri Sue Dillingham, 37 of California, Maryland placed a 42 inch Vizio Plasma Television in her shopping cart, passed all points of sale and exited Wal-mart without paying for the television. Ms. Dillingham was stopped and detained by Wal-mart security and turned over to Senior Deputy First Class Clay Safford. Ms. Dillingham was arrested and charged with theft.
DC Thugs Visit at Bar Ends With Crash into Andrews AFB and Manhunt
WALDORF — Police report that on June 20 at 2:17 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers were clearing the parking lot of the Icon located at 2106 Crain Highway in Waldorf when they observed one vehicle strike another and drive away. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, refused and the vehicle fled on Route 301 into Prince George’s County. While officers were pursuing the vehicle, it struck a police cruiser but the officer was not injured and the suspects continued to flee. The pursuit continued northbound on Branch Avenue until the suspects’ vehicle crashed through the fence at Andrews Air Force Base before coming to a stop. The two occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Sheriff’s Officers, a K9 team, a Maryland State Police helicopter and the defense force at the base searched for the suspects. They were located on the base about 7 a.m. knocking on a resident’s door and were identified as Dominique Turman, 20, and Reginald Paul Sweet, 21, of Washington, D.C. They were detained by police at Andrews Air Force base and will be charged federally with trespassing. Traffic charges are pending against them in Charles County.
Burglar Found One of 31 Ways to Steal Cold Cash from Ice Cream Joint
WALDORF — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office reports it is investigating a burglary that occurred on June 19 at 1:26 a.m. A suspect forced open the back door of Baskin Robbins located at 3261 Plaza Way in Waldorf and entered the store. He stole money from a cash register and attempted to gain access to a safe before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a white heavy-set male. He is about 6 feet 3 inches tall and was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket and a black partial face mask.
